28 goals

A friend said that in the spirit of Eleanor Roosevelt who said something like "do What you fear the most" She is going Sky Diving for her 35th birthday. Well doing what scares me the most involves Sharks and Grizzly Bears. So, no way. There are a lot of things that scare me most, but as far as phobia type things being eaten alive does it for me. I do not have a fear of heights or bugs and I am definitely not claustrophobic, but I still loved this idea of doing something to change yourself in a good way. Another, friend of mine said that she had a friend that sets the same number of goals as she is old and tries to meet those goals by the next birthday. So I am going to start a list of goals to meet by this time next year. I am going to start with 20 and see how it goes. I am no where near 20, but it sounded like a more do able number to start out with. So here goes,
1.learn to sew
2.sew an apron
3.learn to play my guitar
4. use my elliptical at least 5 days a week
5. go to my cardiologist
6. go to my neurologist (these last two sound easy, but I really put them off because usually I do not get news I want to hear)
7. not worry so much
hmmmm.... making this list is harder than I thought I will have to think about it some more

To answer some questions

Yes, my foot hurt a lot and still does. It hasn't healed all the way and the only shoes I could wear that didn't hurt it were these cheap Wal-Mart ked like shoes that had little to no sole. By Sunday My feet were killing me. I tried to go shopping for a different pair , but everything I could find had a strap or something that went across the top of my foot.

The long hallway picture in the last post was of a cell block in Eastern State Penitentiary. That place was really neat, but kinda creepy. It is super old. It was the first "modern" prison in the world. It was built to look like a castle to intimidate immigrants . Really interesting. During Halloween season they do a Haunted House there. They give you a flashlight and you walk through it. I am such a weenie there is no way I could do that. It was creepy enough during the day in mid May.

Brenna, you did not offend me. Most of the highlights from are trip had to do with food.

Joe has no problem of asking anyone to take our picture. It used to embarrass me no end, but now I like it. You can actually see I was on the trip.

Joe and I went to Philadelphia last Thursday and came home On Sunday. Bella had her own vacation with Nana and Papa. (Thanks Mom and Dad) We had an awesome Time. I booked the trip through Last Minute Deals with Travelocity. I really reccommend this because it was crazy cheap. We took the train to New York for the day on Friday. It was the first time I had ever been there and it was crazy. I was telling my sister about all that we did. She then said "what else did you do besides eat?" Hmmmm.... Our hotel was right across the street from Reading Market. The Market was amazing and filled with anything you could possibly want to eat. We were also within walking distance of Chinatown. I have learned that in Asian cooking they use NO DAIRY. There are exceptions to this, but in general you would be hard pressed to find dairy. So I was in heaven. Anyway, we did a lot more than eat and it was a great trip!

Bella' Graduation

Bella had her graduation from pre -K last night. It was so adorable. My Mom, Sister Kelli, Neices Kinsey and Keelin, and Joe's Mom all drove up to see her draduate. The two pre-K classes marched in with their caps and gowns on. They sang three songs. I was so proud because Bella sang and danced. She didn't act shy.

After having such a bad experiance at the beginning of the school year, this school was just a breath of fresh air. Bella's teacher, Ms. Katie cried when she handed out their little diplomas. You could really tell how much the whole staff really cared for all the kids. I wasn't sure if I would get emotional, but when her teacher started the tears I followed. It was a really neat night!

Sweet Daddy

Today, Joe had Bella write her name and then had it tattooed on his arm. I think it is super sweet.

Happy Feet!!!

I have always thouhgt my feet are big and goofy looking. Not really girly. Sure maybe with a little tan they look okay, but always big. Last summer I got a big hibiscus flower on my left foot for me and I was going to get a Stargazer Lily on my right for my Mom. (it's her favorite flower) But, The first one hurt so bad that I have really procrastanated on getting the second one. So, today I got it done. It hurt jut as much as I remebered. I will never reccomend foot tattoos. WOW, not kidding. Hurt REALLLY bad. I mean really. But, I love they way my feet look. Now I think they are cute and girly.

To Mom:

I know you don't get tattoos, but I got the Lily for you. I love you very much and you are very special to me.

I REALLY LOVE MY SISTERS AND MY MOTHER

I edcided to be really cheesy, I really really love them and I want to let them know! I get sad sometimes to think that if Bella remains to be an only child she will miss out on getting to be a sister. My sister's are my best friends (besides Joe who is my VERY VERY best friend). They are beutiful and smart and I really admire them both for very different reasons. If you know us you will agree that we are so different in so many ways, but just alike where it matters. I am very thankful for them.

Happy Mother's Day!!

I d a great Mother's Day and I hope you did, too!! Mine started off rough, but I will not go into that, but ended up being wonderful. Sometimes I need to realize that anyday that I am still "Sucking air" (as my Dad put it) is a wonderful Day. We met my Mom, Dad, Sisters, nephews, and neices, and one brother in law at Red Top Mountain State Park for a picnic. We had a great time. My Dad cooked hamburgers and the babies played in the baby cage, while the big kids played in the red dirt and got filthy. It was a great day!

Wicked

Has anyone read the book "Wicked"? I know it was aplay, but apparently it is a book , too. I ask because I was talking to a friend about the Wizard Of Oz and how it is a childhood thing for me and I love it and so does Bella. He then said I should read "Wicked" because it will change my whole perception obout the Wizard of Oz, maybe even ruin it for me. We were emailing about this and he hasn't gotten back to me. I am really intrigued.

I can be kinda cheap sometimes. Not really cheap, but frugal? Well, I have wanted a matching comforter set for my bed probably ever since Joe and I have been married. They are expensive! Now, there are somethings that I have no problem spending money, but I always look for the best deal. For the past 3 or 4 years we have had this beautiful quilt my mother gave us for Christmas, but the pillow shams were $50 a piece and the bedskirt was ridiculous. So we ended up with pillow shams and a bedskirt that I found on clearence when I worked at Kohls and it never really match at all. Not even the same colors and the bedskirt was for a king bed and we have a queen. So , I safty pinned it to fit. Long story short (too late), I went to Ikea with my sister and I sprang for a Duvet cover with matching pillow shams and I bought a bedskirt to match. I debated with myself if I should just go hog wild and get sheets too, but I decided I could not stand the guilt I would put on myself for a duvet cover AND sheets. So, I didn't get them. Joe has been gone back to Fla. for work. So, to be nice I cleaned our bedroom and put the new cover and pillows and bedskirt on and I just loved it. When Joe came home I was so excited to show it to him (am I a complete dork or what) and do you know what he said? " This is great, but did you get new sheets. I would have loved new sheets. " AHHHHHHHHHH!!!
